One of the upsides of having a lot of different hobbies is that sometimes you can combine them an reach symbiosis! For example when you knit a wrap and the make matching polymer clay-buttons:

Focals by Cheryl Harris

Filed under: beads,Etsy, polymer clay — by jencom @ 3:16 pm

I have finished a couple of necklaces today with my own bead-crocheted ropes and focals by Cheryl Harris.

Cheryl is a very talented polymer clay-artist and I am very happy to own a few of her focals. If you want to see more of her work visit her Etsy page, her Artfire page or her Facebook-album.

Filled and organized my Etsy-store

Filed under: beads,Etsy, polymer clay — by jencom @ 6:19 pm

Today I started to list some new necklaces and pendants in my Etsy-store. I also relisted a bunch of beads that had expired during the Fall. My ambition is to list a few new items each day till my box with items to list is empty. I have A LOT of beads and pendants lying around just waiting to be listed. One problem this time of year is that the light here in Sweden is not too good for photos. As soon as I see the sun I run outside and starts snapping pictures of beads-to-be-listed. This weekend I went out in -12 degrees Celsius (about 10 degrees Farenheit) to snap pics of necklaces. I had to keep my gloves ON during the photo-session 😉 I am a dedicated bead-maker!

When I reached 50 items in my store I finally went ahead and made a a few categories too. I now have a well-stocked and easy to browse through store 🙂 Please take a cup of your favorite drink and swing by, why don’t you?

Finishing up

Filed under: beads, crochet, polymer clay — by jencom @ 3:04 pm

Today I have been busy in my studio. No clay, just finishing necklaces and bracelets that have been lying around like forever. I had crocheted tubes lying all over the place and today I assembled some of them into finished jewellery. I have some more to finish later… I’ve also started to make simple necklaces with all those orphan-beads that is gathering dust in my drawers – I’ll promise to show you when they are done 🙂

The polymer clay-focals in the first two pictures are made by the talented artist Cheryl Harris.

I won 1st place in PCC’s Challenge for November 2009! The theme was Carve it up and I made a necklace with carved/impressed beads (faux ivory and verdigris). I have already spent my money on more clay 🙂

Here’s the winning necklace:
